SKKK Medan Student Exchange 2024
The student exchange program conducted by SKKK Medan to Singapore is one of the flagship initiatives aimed at enhancing students’ knowledge and experience at an international level. In this program, students from SKKK Medan have the opportunity to study at partner schools in Singapore, interact with local students, and explore different cultures and educational systems. This program not only aims to expand students’ academic knowledge but also to develop their social and cultural skills, as well as strengthen international relations. Through various activities such as visits to historical sites, workshops, and group discussions, students are encouraged to think critically, collaborate, and appreciate diversity. Group 3 – “Another Buddy From KCPSS“
Today we wake up at 5 am, we take a shower and eat our breakfast. After all done we went to Kuo Chuan school, at there we meet our buddies and play a game. We begin to recognize our buddy even more and getting more close so that we can talk nicely to each other. We also have art lesson for us and we do a painting. We create our own art to dry it and take it home. We have a break time, we buy some food and eat it with our buddies, we got to talk to them and play with them, the food is delicious and make us full. And then we also have excessive lesson, we play basketball, volleyball, football and more. Many of us sweat of tired but also fun to play.
After we go back from school the next place we visit is Junction 8. We arrived at Junction 8, a bustling shopping mall in Bishan, Singapore. The mall is conveniently located near Bishan MRT station, making it easily accessible. The atmosphere was lively with a mix of families, students, and office workers. Before heading to lunch, we took some time to explore the mall. Junction 8 offers a wide variety of stores, from fashion to electronics, and even a cinema. The layout is straightforward, and we found it easy because we have Ms. Natalie.
For lunch, we decided to try Junction Food, the mall’s food court. The food court had a vibrant ambiance with numerous stalls offering a diverse range of cuisines, including local Singaporean dishes, Asian specialties, and international options. I opted for a plate of Hainanese chicken rice from one of the stalls, a classic Singaporean dish. The service was quick, and I was able to find a seat easily despite the lunchtime rush.
The Hainanese chicken rice was delicious. The chicken was tender and flavorful, complemented perfectly by the fragrant rice and savory dipping sauce. The portion size was generous, making it a satisfying meal. We left Junction 8 feeling content and satisfied with my visit. The mall offers a great variety of dining and shopping options, making it a perfect spot for a casual day out.

Group 3 – “Learning Together in KCPSS“
Today we wake up at early at 04.30 am, we take a shower and eat our breakfast. Because we want to join morning assembly on KCPSS. The school field was buzzing with energy as students gathered for the day’s announcements. We sang the national anthem and listened to the principal’s speech about the importance of perseverance and teamwork. There was also a brief update on upcoming events and a reminder about the importance of maintaining discipline and respect in all our interactions.
Our first period was Mathematics with the teacher. We tackled complex algebraic equations and explored quadratic functions. The teacher introduced a new problem-solving strategy that involved visualizing equations with graphs. We practiced solving problems on the whiteboard, and the teacher was always there to provide encouragement and guidance. Next was Science with the teacher. We conducted an experiment on chemical reactions using baking soda and vinegar. The bubbling reaction was fascinating, and we learned about the different types of reactions and how they occur. The teacher encouraged us to think critically about the variables affecting the experiment and to record our observations meticulously.
At lunch, we headed to the canteen. The bustling atmosphere was filled with the chatter of students and the enticing smell of various dishes. I opted for the chicken noodles and chatted with friends about our favorite moments of the day. We also discussed our upcoming trip to the Singapore Discovery Centre, which everyone was excited about.
After lunch, we took a trip to the Singapore Discovery Centre. The visit was both educational and entertaining. We explored interactive exhibits about Singapore’s history and innovations, participated in a 4D simulator experience, and learned about the country’s defense and future planning. The centre’s hands-on exhibits and engaging displays made learning about Singapore’s progress and achievements enjoyable and memorable. The day concluded with a visit to Marina Bay for the much-anticipated water show. As the sun set, the area transformed into a vibrant spectacle of light and water. The show featured a stunning blend of fountains, lasers, and music, creating a breathtaking experience. Watching the water dance and change colors in sync with the music was mesmerizing, and it was a fantastic way to end an eventful day.
